Grants and scholarships

Our grants and scholarships programs empower our West Point community, our local community, and the military community at-large.

community grants

The WPSC is an all-volunteer organization that empowers our West Point community, our local community, and the military community at-large.

Our grants program reflects this focus. As we consider grant applications, we are looking to align our charitable giving with opportunities that strengthen and enrich our community.

SCHOLARSHIPS

The West Point Spouses’ Club is a non-profit organization composed entirely of volunteers and exclusively for charitable purposes. Our top priority includes raising money to provide grants and educational scholarships that benefit the West Point community and the military community at-large.

WPSC Community Grants

2026 – 2027 Grant Applications will open by January 1, 2027.

Grant Application Process

We consider grants once a year. This year’s application will be available at the link below no later than January 1st, and will be due by the end of the first week of March. We notify grant applicants if we are going to fund their request by late April, and issue checks in late May. Funds must be spent by December 1st or returned to us. A grant reporting worksheet (available below) and copies of receipts are also due to us by December 1st.

Our application consists of some basic information about your organization, including your overall size, the population you serve, the kinds of programs you run, and an explanation of what your organization would like a WPSC Grant for.

Note that we don’t fund grants for general operating expenses; we fund specific requests for specific items. For example, grants we could consider would be asks like: “4 bunk beds for our shelter at $500 each for a total of $2000” or “first aid courses for six new local leaders, $150/each for a total of $900”.

501(c)3 and similar formally organized non-profit organizations are eligible for our grants. So are certain organizations that are not required to obtain 501(c)(3) status, such as public schools and churches.

Some organizations or applications are not eligible, and we will automatically deny the grant application:

  • Applications from organizations or for items that do not fit our mission as described above.
  • Organizations that do not have 501(c)3 or similar status and are also not public schools, churches, or similar organizations.
  • Organizations that submit incomplete applications.
  • Organizations that have failed to submit a grant reporting worksheet and supporting receipts after receiving a WPSC grant in the past.

Applications submitted outside of our open application period unless the grant is for a sudden issue that could not reasonably have been foreseen, creates an urgent, time-sensitive need, and delaying to the normal WPSC grant process timing would significantly reduce the impact of, or cause harm to, the applicant organization or community. In this situation, please email our Grants Board Member for the correct application form
